What to expect on the day
1. We walk through the property with you, locate every appliance and supply line, and confirm exactly what's being decommissioned.
2. We shut off and lock out the main gas supply.
3. We safely depressurise the pipework before any disconnection work begins.
4. We disconnect each applianceand cap its supply with a proper gas-rated fitting.
5. We remove pipework where it's accessible. Concealed lines are capped at both ends and clearly labelled.
6. We pressure-test any pipework that's staying live (for a partial decommission) to confirm there are no leaks.
7. For a full decommission, we coordinate with your gas distributor to remove or lock the meter.
8. We issue your gas compliance certificate and a written report listing everything that was disconnected, capped, and tested.
Planning and designing the plumbing layout
Before a slab is poured, we map out water and waste lines to suit the design of the house. We look at fixture placement, fall of the land, and council requirements to make sure everything will work long-term — not just on paper.
Installing kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries
These are the busiest rooms in the house, and they rely on good plumbing more than anything else. We install water and waste connections for sinks, toilets, showers, dishwashers, and washing machines, making sure everything lines up perfectly with cabinetry and tiling.
Connecting sewers and stormwater to the mains
A house is only as good as its drains. We install sewer and stormwater lines with the correct fall, join them to boundary traps and council mains, and test every joint so there are no surprises once you move in.
Fitting hot water systems and ensuring compliance
From electric storage tanks to continuous-flow gas systems, we fit the right hot water unit for the house and make sure it’s compliant with energy and safety standards. We also run pressure tests to protect the whole system.
How long it takes
A partial decommission (one or two appliances) is usually a half-day job. A full whole-house decommission with multiple appliances and concealed pipework typically takes a full day. If we need to coordinate with your gas network for meter removal, we'll plan the timing with you in advance.
Good to know
• The gas meter itself is owned by your gas network and only they can physically remove it. We coordinate that for you.
• LPG cylinders or bulk tanks arecollected by your gas supplier, and we'll let you know what to arrange.
• A compliance certificate is required by law for any change to a gas installation. We always provide one
